Managing your employees: keeping order in the workplace

Its important for business owners – especially those who work in an office or firm to treat their employees with respect and of course vise-versa. Maintaining the public order in the office setting is an important thing to consider when running a firm or business, it not only saves you a bit less of the backstabbing, but also helps to reduce the stress brought by your jobs both for you and for your employees as well. Remember that these people who work under you contribute greatly to the success of your company – their willingness to handle things and to do things more efficiently, and as well as the length of their stay in your company is most of the time also dependent on how you treat them.

Beware of Sexual Harassment.

Maintaining order in the workplace is very important and keeping check of your employees and how they act with each other or how they communicate with each other is vital. Sexual harassment doesn’t only occur when you force someone to accompany you to the best mattresses 2019, sometimes even words and simple actions may cause discomfort to some people. Take note of cultural differences, what may be just a friendly gesture for some may cause great disturbances to others. Try adding questions that delve slightly in cultural background or growing environment in work interviews just to have an impression on how to act around a certain person or where to assign them to. Have a comments/suggestions box available in the room and have someone check them regularly, some people get intimidated to voice out their complaints directly and might prefer to give an anonymous complaint.

Regular events outside the office setting to get everyone acquainted.

Giving your employees time to get to know each other and play or eat out with each other is also a good way to ensure a better working environment and workflow. Set up monthly or yearly events like sports events or volunteer initiatives. Choose whatever activity seems appropriate for your company and for your philosophy.

Flexible work time.

This has been often used in smaller design firms and tech labs, having a flexible time schedule allows your employees to feel less restricted and helps them to avoid the annoying traffic hours. Now a days especially in the realm of design, the final output and not time is what some employers check out. In this type of work setting employees are free to do whatever they want and sometimes be wherever they want to as long as they deliver a proper final output – much like how we handled our college projects/thesis.

& The most important point, choose the people you want to work with carefully.
